I hired her for a simple divorce case. She has demonstrated poor communication throughout my working with her. She had not communicated with me for 1.5 months before I also decided the client-attorney relationship had to end. She had not returned my emails or phone calls. Due to her lack of communication, my ex who I have an restraining order against, has repeatedly harassed me and attempted to stalk me.

Lerma has a history of poor communication. My ex's counsel has harassed me in the beginning of the proceedings, assuming that I was representing myself pro se. My ex's counsel is extremely belligerent, who I already reported to Texas bar, and will likely start harassing me again.

I will be requesting a refund as I paid her 75% of the counsel fee which is 3750 dollars. She has not nearly done 75% of the work - she has attended ONE restraining order hearing. I know my rights, if she does not refund me appropriately, I may have to take my grievance to the Texas Bar again. Where in this world am I finding so many inappropriate and unprofessional attorneys? El Paso, you need to do better.

The latest issue involves them forcing me to go to a hearing during a time I have clearly stated I was not available. Lerma went ahead and did the hearing anyways without my presence, willfully. She has been reported to the Texas Bar.

These people are rude and incompetent. They don't even know what JP to file their cases into. Very rude.

Whatever you do. Don't hire this attorney. Blew a simple writ order for a custody hearing. After the hearing she basically said "you're gonna have to find another attorney". There's nothing else I can do to help
