Shannon was a very terrible attorney. She did everything she could to be bias and favor the OP including clear cases of abuse, lies and manipulation and even without being paid her portion from the OP she still kept communication going and ignored all my communications and neglect concerns. She asked for full payment to respond to me, after paying my portion she still barely gave any response to my conerns. Fortunately my attorney was able to get a good outcome but Shannon does not represent the best interest of children and she's proven this twice in my case.

Shannon is a horrible GAL and should not longer be practicing. She allowed this court case to go on for 3 years. She was very one sided. She never came to my house. Spoke with ANY of my family. There is apparent parental alienation but she was negligent doing her duties. She gave custody to a parent who made false allegations. She is very high strung. She made the"triangulation" worse between my ex and my daughter.She had my daughter "spy" on me and take pictures of my "prescription" drugs. She gave full custody to a man who would have done any thing to sabotage me. Since that court date he has cut off all communication with my daughter. I have not seen or talked to my daughter in 6 months. I reached out to Shannon and she stated she is no longer on the case. I would have to get a new attorney! She completely took a piece of me. Most importantly she failed my daughter!!!!!!!How she sleeps at night is beyond me. All for financial gain. She even said herself that family courts is a "community" they all refer to eachother to make money.

Shannon Sorenson is a very bias attorney, not good for children. If you truly care about the well being of your child/children do not use this attorney.

Yes, GAL's are appointed when there are allegations of abuse. Absolutely any allegation of physical abuse or substance abuse will get a GAL appointed. So, hypothetically, someone could just claim abuse regardless of whether there is abuse or not. Now, in regards to our specific case, the mother claimed all sorts of abuse although the only one arrested for Domestic Violence was the mom, in fact, 5 people witnessed Shannon watch a video of mom drinking liquor while simultaneously breastfeeding our young daughter and Shannon's exact words were "I dont care, nothing will change my mind" when we were just asking for a fair 50/50 agreement. Mom was able to utilize her access to her father's money to draw out a lengthy court process with 10's of thousands of wasted dollars because Shannon failed to do her job and represent the well being of the child. Instead, Shannon racked up thousands of dollars in fees when her and I barely ever spoke, it was over a year after she was appointed before she even visited my home. I can only assume mom was responsible for all the wasted additional expenses. I've heard several stories of other people who Shannon was appointed as GAL and the children were worse off due to Shannon's negligence and bias. In fact, I have monitored the reviews on here, and multiple negative reviews seem to keep getting removed or deleted for some reason.

I post this and say this because if you are reading this and Shannon Sorenson has just been appointed as GAL in your case, you have a very limited amount of time to request a different GAL. I HIGHLY recommend that you request a different GAL no matter your circumstances because Shannon is not a good person and she will disregard her duties. She will lie and rack up thousands of unnecessary expenses and she will treat both parents differently. Several children are worse off due to Shannon Sorenson and people like her.

Shannon Sorensen is an excellent attorney. I felt that she really cared about my children and put their needs above anyone else even me, which is what she is supposed to do.
