My ex-husband hired Matthew to represent him during our divorce. From the first moment I spoke with Matthew, I could hear the lack of professionalism. He was condescending, passive aggressive, and laughed at me when he disagreed with my statements. Matthew had to remind me multiple times how professional and “elite” his practice is. He felt the need to make me aware of all his wonderful reviews and 4.7 rating, which after reading said reviews, it makes sense since he pressures clients to write these reviews. Matthew asked for my age (30) to only follow up with a reminder that he’s been practicing since I was 2 years old. All very strange questions and comments, with the intent to validate his competency with empty words rather than let his interactions and work speak for itself. Clearly his work can’t speak for itself and he needs verbal validation- even from himself. Not to add the way he filled out the forms and drafted the exhibits. My lawyers and the court clerks were appalled at the verbiage and format of the forms he drafted, convinced that he generated them through AI, and went as far as researching his credentials because it didn’t make sense that a person with “28 years of experience” could put together a package like that. Please don’t hire this firm. He may appear as “more affordable” than other lawyers, but you truly get what you pay for with this man. A lawyer should be someone professional, respectful and competent. That is not what you’ll find here. Take the time to look at the other reviews because several people seem to share the same experience.
