THIS IS EDITTED TO RESPOND TO HIS HORRIBLE RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW TRYING TO MAKE ME LOOK BAD: Thank you for the response. I want to clarify a few points for accuracy and transparency.

I did not ask for free legal work. I asked whether my matter would be reviewed at all before being asked to commit to hourly fees in the $100–$150+ range. At no point was an attorney willing to review documents, assess viability, or determine whether representation was appropriate prior to payment. That was my concern.

I was also not “shopping around for free services,” but comparing firms based on intake practices. Many firms, including those handling consumer disputes, at least perform a preliminary review or screening before charging significant fees. That did not occur here.

My interaction was not with an attorney, but through an intake process that felt outsourced and transactional. There was no substantive legal discussion, no document review, and no assessment of whether my matter was suitable for representation before payment was requested. That experience is what prompted my review.

Regarding office presence, my comments were not an accusation of wrongdoing. They were an observation that the local address appeared to be a shared or virtual office space, which was not disclosed during intake and contributed to my uncertainty as a prospective client.

Finally, I find it worth noting that a detailed public response was issued promptly and at no cost, while meaningful engagement on my actual legal issue required immediate payment before any review. Readers can decide for themselves what that says about priorities.

My review reflects my personal experience. Others may feel differently, but transparency and expectations during intake matter to people seeking legal help.
I had a very disappointing experience with SRIS Law. Based on my interaction, they appear to rely heavily on third party intake or network providers rather than direct attorney engagement. Before anyone was willing to review my situation or look at documents, I was quoted a very high fee just to proceed.

What also raised concerns for me was the lack of transparency around their actual office presence. The address associated with the firm locally appears to be a shared office or virtual office location through Regus at the Key Center in downtown Buffalo, rather than a staffed law office. That may work for some firms, but it was not clearly disclosed during intake and added to the impression that there was no meaningful, hands on review of my case.

At no point did it feel like an attorney had evaluated whether my matter was appropriate for representation. The process felt transactional and rushed, with an emphasis on upfront payment before any substantive discussion.

I understand legal services can be expensive, but asking for a significant amount of money before even performing a basic review felt unreasonable. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions upfront about who will actually review your case, whether documents will be examined before fees are charged, and whether the firm operates from a staffed office or a shared location.
