Unfortunately Ms. Simmons was recommended by another law office in a different locality. Family member paid for a consultation, but instead got 15 minutes of humiliation for her hard earned money. This family member had finally worked up the courage to leave a 10+ year abusive relationship, and is continually working toward getting her life and mental health back on track. Ms. Simmons blamed her for sticking around as long as she did and "allowing" the things that happened to take place. I pray Ms. Simmons never falls off of her high horse and finds herself in a similar situation. Women don't choose abuse, be it verbal or physical. Sometimes when you finally realize what's actually happening, there may be children, mortgages, a lack of funds, or numerous other things to consider. It's not as easy as Ms. Simmons seems to believe.

If you're stuck in an abusive relationship or marriage, I pray you find the strength that you need to leave or seek help. If you're thinking about allowing Simmons & Hodge the opportunity to fight for you, please reconsider.. from our family's experience, they wont. It's not worth making an already tough time even tougher.

I payed $300 for a consultation with Jennifer Simmons and I wouldn't refer her to anyone. From the moment I walked in her office she was rude and judgmental. She didnt even know me or give me a chance before judging me. She barley gave me a chance to speak. I was in her office all of 15 minutes before I walked out crying. I came to her for help to see my 8 yr old son because my abusive husband, I left after our 26 day old son passed way after open heart surgery wasn't allowing me too see him. If it weren't for losing our son I'd probably still be there dealing with the abuse. Losing my baby hurt me more than anything in the world and I realized my husband could no longer hurt me and I was able to get out. Jennifer told me we we're both horrible parents and if she we're the judge she'd take our son and put him in foster care. I told her she had no clue what I'd been through these 10 years she had no right to judge me as a grieving mom. I left her office called my mom crying told her I didnt know how much more I could take. She was distraught that a lawyer would tell a grieving mother those horrible things. Jennifer beeped in so I answered it. She apologized for the hateful things she said and that she came off wrong. I told her I was doing everything I could do I was in counseling I had put our son in counseling that I was ashamed for allowing my husband to abuse me in front the kids for all these years but it wasn't easy to just pack of 2 kids and leave with no money and no where to go and when I was held against my will and she saw a video where I was being held against my will. I told her I was just lucky to even be alive. I reached out to the lawyers office that referred me to Jennifer and told them my experience and they apologized said they definitely wouldn't be keeping her on the list to refer. If you need a lawyer don't waste your money on her.
