I hired Ms Goldberg to represent me against a former employer. She dropped me in the middle of the case! Astonishingly unprofessional as it left me hanging, but it turns out she did me a favor.

From the start, she did seem to want to encourage the employer (a very large bank) to settle, and eventually the employer said we will not settle this, take us to court. At this point, Ms Goldberg became unresponsive. When I tried to get her on the phone, she responded by email to tell me “we have nothing to talk about.” She went on to say the only thing she can do now is to start filing legal motions and that if I want to do that, I have to sign a new agreement and give her a huge pile of money. When I questioned this all, she threw a hissy fit and told me to “find another lawyer.”

Instead, I approached the former employer myself, presented the situation the way it should have been presented in the first place to encourage the company to settle, and surprise surprise! The former employer settled. Not for as much as I had hoped, but still a substantial amount. Too bad Ms Goldberg dropped me: She would have received a portion of that settlement. Instead, I got it all.

So, I guess if you are considering hiring Ms Goldberg, I would suggest you follow the last bit of advice she gave to me: “find another lawyer.”

Being able to work with Lauren has been an absolute pleasure. She is patient, caring and attentive. I was emotionally exhausted and stressed, and Lauren understood and emphasized with my situation. She was fast to respond to emails, even working on weekends.
