DO NOT USE!

So... where do I start... This lawyer is very rude, unprofessional and greedy. These is what you can see without a doubt when you just working with him.

Rude: He does treat you like a very dumb person who asks some kind of nonsense. He behaves like a superior who is unfortunately obliged to get down to your level.

Unprofessional: in our HOA we have an unfortunate situation to have him as a lawyer on the litigation case. Do I need to tell you that it's going for 2 year's now and there's no end seen to it. Makes fake promises and obviously does not tell you any details or valuable info for your understanding of the situation at all.

Greedy: charges 500 an hour for not saying a single valuable word. Plus charges piles of money for other services (not sure which, might be even faking some).

Also he encourages very unhealthy environment in the community by happily serving the minority who wants to get back on someone.

The last thing I can tell about this practice - they are working closely with Lilac Management.

I did not deal with Kevin Frederick, but dealt with Atty Paul Lee.
My unfortunate meeting with Paul Lee was of Disappointment, Anger and a Warning to All .

For starters, me and my neighbor were very good friends for the pass 19 Yrs.
We have problem on our Lot Boundaries and have agreed to swap a new Roof for the Easement to be given to my end

And time came that my neighbor wanted to sell the property and they advised me (for both side's interests) we better put everything in writing and properly file with the County of San Mateo , of what we originally agreed upon.

So, my neighbor advise me that they shall advise the Real Estate Broker they hired to take care of the creation of this Legal Document and without a doubt a Lawyer's skill is needed to draft the Document.

The original document was properly drafted by Atty Paul Lee of The Law Offices of Kevin D. Frederick. And it needs some amendments to be done and to make it easy for all parties involved, my neighbor (who happens to be out of town) told me to just join in with their Real Estate Broker and see the Lawyer again for the amendments.

In come the day I met with the real Estate Broker, who walked me to the law Office and met up with Atty Paul Lee (for the first time I met him). What happened then surprised both the Real Estate Broker and I.
Atty Lee rudely told me that my words and what was originally agreed upon by me and my neighbor is not binding within the Law. And Atty Lee used certain words that is totally out of the jurisdiction of being an Ethical Lawyer (Considering that I met him for the first time)....

Atty Lee said that since my neighbor is the one paying him for his services, he does not have to take any orders from me in amending the originally drafted agreement.


From that point on, the Broker cut into the discussion, he apologized to me on how the Lawyer was behaving and said that this meeting is over. We then left the Law Office ....

I then (trying to be as fair as possible) relayed to my neighbor (who was out of town) of what happened and told them of what Atty Paul Lee said of their legal rights. And if they would consider these advises and would go outside of what we originally agreed upon.....
And as always a good neighbor and basically honest people, they said no and they shall honor what was originally agreed upon.....

Atty Lee , without knowing the facts is basically encouraging for a legal dispute between my neighbor and I. And what and how he said it does not help either......

Very disappointing that honest to goodness people like us had to stumble into Unethical Individual like Atty Paul Lee....
I have friends who are Lawyers telling me that there are many opportunistic Lawyers out there. And basically an ethical Lawyer should try to find out the Facts on the Ground First before giving any Legal advises on what to be done and try to resolve matters between parties before going to court.

On this case again, no one was asking for Atty Lee's Legal advise. We were just hiring his services to Draft a legal document , so we may proceed to file it to the County of San Mateo.

I would never use the services of such unethical Law Firm and would warn anyone on what I had gone through.....

Several years later the HOA settled for $325,000. This suggests to me that Mr Frederick has a bias as to whom he represents and clearly doesn't communicate with prospective clients that bias.
