Absolutely appalling.

As a mandatory reporter in the counseling field, I have worked around child welfare concerns and have seen difficult custody cases. I have never witnessed such an egregious disregard for a child's wellbeing from someone whose job is supposedly to protect that child's best interests.

Gillian was provided with an affidavit detailing a terroristic threat involving firearms by father. Serious allegations of abuse against the father were supported by doctor summaries and the observations of the child's therapist of two years. Despite this, she recommended that the father become the primary guardian over a mother with no criminal record and no history of abuse.

How anyone can claim to know what is in a child's best interests without interviewing some of the most important witnesses is beyond me. Allegations supported by medical and mental health professionals appear to have been brushed aside without even the most basic follow-up.

What makes this even more troubling is the appearance of bias throughout the process. Gillian was "recommended" by the father's attorney and allegedly socialized with the father and his family outside of court. Readers can draw their own conclusions, but when a supposedly neutral advocate ignores critical evidence and key witnesses, and then spends personal time with one side, it becomes very difficult not to question the impartiality of the process.

The entire experience left me with the impression that the outcome was decided before any meaningful investigation took place. Evidence raising serious concerns for a child's safety was disregarded. Kayden's law- quite literally created to prevent EXACTLY this- was not even part of the legal consideration. Professional opinions were ignored. Basic investigative steps were never taken. The child's welfare appeared to be an afterthought.

I strongly suspect that the 5-star reviews on this place of business come from situations where attorneys successfully "recommended" Gillian for their clients' custody cases. A best-interest attorney should be one of the strongest safeguards a child has in the legal system. Based on my experience, Gillian failed in that responsibility in spectacular fashion. I would not trust her to conduct a fair, thorough, or objective assessment where a child's safety and wellbeing are at stake.

Without question, this was one of the most disappointing and troubling professional experiences I have ever witnessed.

Thankful for Gillian advising and guiding me through a custody battle. She gave me peace of mind and ultimately got things taken care of for me! Thank God for Gillian and her secretary who has also been a huge help!! Highly recommend!🩷
