I had this man as my lawyer he is nice to your face to reel you in and once you agree to him and his terms. He ignores you and does not answer your calls I call this man and text him so many time and he refuse to answer any of them. I was calling I'm due to an emergency I was having with my case and my daughter and he didn't reach out to me until I contacted the office he was working out of. Come to find out he was renting a place on rancho cucamonga. They have told me i was not the only one here was doing this to. I even had to show up to the office to get his attention. Long story short I will be contacting the board to report him. He is not a good lawyer he picks and choose who he wants to help and talk to like this was high school. If you are going to get him as a lawyer be prepared to not hear from him after weeks to months. I recommend to not have him as a lawyer so not even call him. The pictures I put up are phone records of me calling him and he was forwarding my calls to voice mall. You can see he does not answer people's calls. Also ask the office about him before you talk to him.

It's been nearly 3 years as of today since my wife and I paid Mr. Borthwick to represent us both in a petition for divorce. According to the county clerk's office, our file has been returned to Mr. Borthwick numerous times for errors and has even been lost. Communication and updates regarding our case have been poor at best. At this point, both my wife and I would prefer a refund so that we can seek appropriate legal counsel to move forward in this matter of separation.

DO NOT HIRE… unethical, unprofessional, liar, conman. I paid this Attorney my husband and I about three years ago. Our paperwork has been returned a numerous amount of times I had previously left a review on yelp and Google and he asked me to take them down and promised that this would be resolved well here I am it’s been months and nothing I checked today online and my paperwork was returned once again. This man does not know what he’s doing when I hired him. My husband and I went we paid This divorce would be a slam dunk because we really had nothing to fight over. No children. Nothing it’s been going on three years and nothing has been achieved. Once again. Douglas has ghosted me will not respond to me or my husband‘s text and he has now passed me on to somebody named Pete Pete at least responds and seems very nice but he submitted my divorce and now it’s been returned as a 4/23/2026 . I don’t know what kind of business this man is running he will take your money. He will not do his job And you will not hear from him he doesn’t care it’s very obvious about his reputation. I have been more than patient understanding and that is why I decided to put this review I should’ve never taken it down at his request. He said it was hurting his business and that’s exactly what needs to be done . He needs to stop deceiving clients and Promising things that he cannot deliver. I hope that this saves somebody from all the grief and anxiety that he has caused my husband and I. Douglas, I know you’re going to read this and I hope that you retire or give me my money back that I have asked for a numerous amount of times So that I could take my business elsewhere. This review will stay because after believing you and taking down my first review, you have not delivered Or honored the contract.
