I want to share my experience in a clear and organized way, following the same order in which the immigration process unfolded for us. My intention is to explain exactly what happened and why the service we received was so unsatisfactory.
Our process began with the I‑130 petition. This form is the first and most essential step in a family-based immigration case, and a professional law firm should be able to complete it accurately and within a reasonable timeframe. Unfortunately, in our case it took almost a year without meaningful progress, even though all the required information had already been provided. After waiting for months with no updates, I ended up completing the I‑130 myself and sending it to the office multiple times because the case simply was not moving forward. This delay affected every stage of the process that followed.
When our case moved to the National Visa Center (NVC), we did not receive any assistance uploading documents to the CEAC system. A legal representative should guide clients through this step, review documents, confirm they meet the requirements, and help upload them correctly. We received none of that and had to handle everything on our own without clear instructions.
As we approached the interview stage, we also did not receive guidance regarding the mandatory medical exam or information about biometric requirements. We were left to search for this information ourselves. A law office is expected to provide direction on what steps come next, how to schedule them, and what timelines to follow, but that support was not provided.
Communication throughout the process was also disappointing. Instead of receiving clarity and assistance, we often received responses with an unprofessional and dismissive tone. There was little empathy or understanding of the challenges involved in managing this process from Mexico. Even after explaining that I needed to request time off from work to join calls, there was no consideration of that reality. On one occasion, we weren’t even able to connect to the scheduled call, and yet we were still blamed for the difficulty in arranging a new one.
When it came time to request interview preparation, again there was no genuine willingness to help. We were left feeling as though they were doing us a favor rather than providing a service we had paid for and reasonably expected to receive.
Based solely on my experience, I cannot recommend the services of Law Offices of Brian D. Lerner, APC. An immigration case requires guidance, professionalism, respect, and consistent support, and unfortunately, that was not what we received.

I appreciate the assistance and paper pushing that Christopher Reed did. The day of our interview he didn’t show up and sent another rep from the office. She sat in both interviews and advised us at the end everything went great. For $1500. Then 6 months later we hear the opposite from immigration. I have a death in the family and going to a funeral and unable to meet in his law office with my husband in person he advised that he can’t help us or do video call with me while my husband is present and asked for $3,000. I scheduled for when I get back and he states not enough time to prepare. Prepare what we have all the documents. Oh well. Looking for a new lawyer with 2 1/2 weeks before our USCIS deadline. I want to upload photos but I won’t.
Thanks😊

I was very disappointed with my experience working with Brian Lerner. In my opinion, the level of care and follow-through did not meet reasonable expectations.

The work that was delivered missed key elements of what we had discussed, and the overall outcome was not what I expected. When I raised these concerns, the response felt abrupt and dismissive rather than collaborative or solution-oriented.

This review reflects my personal experience, and others may have a different one, but based on what I encountered, I wish I had reviewed more feedback beforehand.
