I mistakenly selected this firm after receiving an email from them (they sent their email everywhere). They took my retainer on September 29, 2023 ($1,750), but they didn’t start my case until two months later on December 8th, 2023. During those two months, all they did was just send me a form to fill out. By December 8th of 2023, they had me pay off all the legal fee and court fee in full ($2,250 in total with $500 court fee) and they said they were only going to file the case after our payment. I had no choice but to pay because I had already paid the $1750 retainer earlier. However, they never gave me any updates. Earlier this March, when I asked the lawyer about the status of the case, he said that it will take a few months to hear back from the court. Then, only after I continued asking him about the case status and got a third-party involved, did he reveal that my case was already rejected by the court (he said because the format is not correct). Even when he knew that my case was already rejected, he hid that fact from me and deceived me to believe that it’ll take at least another few months to hear back from the court. To my surprise, he did not respond to the court after the rejection in a timely manner, nor did he let us know until recently we kept inquiring about the case status. He just let the case sit without going anywhere. Finally, six months after I paid my retainer, three and half months after I paid off my fee, my case is still at the very beginning stage (not filed in court at all) and I have to start from scratch on my own. The attorney and law firm have no explanations, no apologies but instead became hostile towards me. This unprofessional and unethical conduct severely delayed my case in a time-sensitive situation. They’ve caused me great personal distress.
