Katzen Law Firm represented the trustee of a Special Needs Trust. Nearly every request for funds had to go through them, and everything moved on their timeline. Petitions took months to prepare, decisions were consistently slow, and reasonable requests for the beneficiary’s needs were repeatedly questioned or challenged. Their legal fees were excessive in my opinion, particularly given the pace and level of service we received. A Special Needs Trust exists to benefit the beneficiary. Our experience instead was unnecessarily difficult, expensive, and adversarial. Now that the court proceedings are over and a new trustee has been appointed, I can say without hesitation that I would never choose to work with Katzen Law Firm again. If your family is dealing with a Special Needs Trust, understand exactly who this firm represents before becoming involved with them.

My family and I did not have a good experience with this law office. They handled a conservatorship case for a family member and truly dragged their feet through the entire process. There was a point where they left the case for about 2 months because they “forgot”. I would not recommend. There are much better law firms out there that actually care about their clients. The headache we’ve had to deal with because this case took so long has been a burden to us and our family. I do NOT recommend.
