Attorney Santana was hired to represent me in a probate related matter. After trust bank statements were subpoenad but didn't contain the Trust instrument submitted to open the account, she tried to convince me they were irrelevan. Then claimed the bank may not have had the policy requiring at the back in 2011 or they were lost when the bank was acquired, and refused my request to check with the bank, while claiming "testimony is the best evidence". I personally contacted the bank, they advised the policy always existed, then produced the account opening documents they indicated had already been provided electronically, including trust document, and resent them attorney Santana, who had also claimed she scanned the documents before, emailing them to me, demonstrating not only account opening fraud but forgery of a trust instrument. They were VERY relevant.

After raising these issues with her, she resigned before being terminated.

The attorney I hired to replace her, acted similarly, withheld the crucial evidence and I terminated him. Interestingly, within months, both he and his assistant, both "left" their jobs at one of Michigans largest law firms. The probate attorney was later subsequently disbarred for multiple ethics violations in April of 2026.
LESSON LEARNED- Don't assume your lawyer is always right or acting in your best interests. Ask questions, demand copies of everything, and use AI platforms to verify their claims/position and to ensure their actions are appropriate. In short, be your own advocate and first research your attorney.
