Virgil was very professional and handled my case effectively. Very down to earth and easy to talk you. Knows the law and is very realistic. He doesn't sugar coat and fill you up with bs. He's straight up about your case. I can appreciate his honesty.

On behalf of the Cheatham family, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Attorney Virgil Ford for your outstanding legal representation of our family member, Tuskegee police officer Captain Tommy Cheatham. Thanks to your swift intervention and expert defense, the charges against him were dismissed.
In December 2023, Captain Cheatham was charged with possessing a firearm with an altered serial number in Montgomery County. Your strategic legal approach not only led to the dismissal of the charges but also revealed that the firearm’s serial number was intact, ultimately proving his innocence.
Your professionalism, dedication, and expertise were crucial in securing this victory, and we cannot thank you enough. You’ve truly been a hero to our family, bringing both relief and justice during a challenging time.
We will forever be grateful for your hard work and the exceptional support you provided.

I was an employee of the State Alabama for over 32 years when I filed my case with the EEOC in Birmingham. Although I had the right to be free from discrimination and harassment based on my identity as a member of a protected class. I was denied a promotion, and subjected to unfair treatment based on my race. I hired Attorney Virgil Ford because he was highly recommended by former Judge Tracy McCooey.

In the beginning, Mr Ford was professional, charismatic, articulate and very persuasive. Later, Mr. Ford made me aware that he had been approached for my files by an attorney, Timothy “Bo” Offord, a former attorney with the Medicaid office. Mr Offord currently works with the Attorney Generals (AGs) office. Attorney Ford indicated to me at one time they lived in close proximity to each other. At that time, I wasn’t concerned with regards to Attorney Offord’s reaching out to Attorney Ford because I had confidence in his integrity.

I kept submitting the daily acts of retaliation on my job to Attorney Ford. However, for some unknown reason, he stopped responding to my calls, texts, emails, etc. Although Attorney Ford signed the Letter of Representation for EEOC, he also failed to respond to their calls, emails, voicemail, etc. I had no other option but to terminate his services and I requested the return of my case files. On one occasion, I called him from a friend’s phone, he finally answered but pretended he couldn’t talk with me until he pulled my case file. He never returned my call or my files.

To this day, Attorney Ford has refused to return my EEOC files to me, which leads me to believe he may have sold my case files to my former employees. Mr. Ford undermined my confidence in his integrity, he has clearly violated my rights as a former client. Consequently, he should be disbarred for engaging in unethical or illegal practices. Regrettably I sought Attorney Ford for remedies for civil rights violations in my workplace to correct a discriminatory act or policy and to be compensated as a victim monetarily for these violations. Instead, I was oppressed and violated by my own lawyer. He should be held accountable for his actions/lack of actions. Therefore, I highly DO NOT recommend the Law Office of Hampton and Ford, especially Attorney Virgil Ford.
