Think twice before hiring Frank Kocka . In 2014 He railroaded My then 19yr old son Maurice Talley to take a plea deal… instead of doing his job and investigate his case. He knew there was video footage to clear my son. And he did not present it or do an appeal for the coerced plea deal he gave my son. Kocka is the worst Attorney a black male can choose, because he will not represent you well in court. Back in 2013 when he first was appointed as a Public Defender on my don’s case, i tried on many occasions to speak with him. To show him the video footage that showed my son was home during a drive by shooting that occurred on 1/12/2013. To include the day of my son’s hearing in 2014 he was told again of the video footage.and his words to me were “it was too late” and walked away and left me screaming at him. He could have filed an appeal that day , but he did not. And now the courts are still telling us our video is too late. The Judicial system in Vegas is the worst when it comes to black males. The DA’s office has had the video since March of 2017and has denied my son to present it. The NV Supreme court kicked it back after my son kept filling numerous habeas someone finally saw something was wrong. And now on 4/9/2026 a Judge has viewed the footage and he says it is not newly discovered evidence. Yes can you believe it??? We paid $25,000 to Christopher Oram who presented the video and Again my son has to file to the NV Supreme Court. Kocka was also in court on 4/9/2026. And still did not bother to say yes The Mother of Maurice Talley did tell me there was a video back in 2014? NO!! My son was only 19. He did admit to a crime he DID DO! But Kocka & Klan DA used his confession to railroad him to making a plea deal for 2 cases when it should have been only the one he confessed to. Kocke did not want to go to court because the prosecution’s eye witness was a CI and it would have looked bad to have a CI that is found to be lying in this case. Because it would have made all his cases be called into question. This case shows so much corruption. Detectve T. Alsup P#5785 was told on 1/23/13 when he brought SWAT to my home i told him i had video cameras in my home and he could view to see where my son was on the day in question. But he refused, after they left I called him later that night to let him know i had pulled footage from 10/11 days from 1/23/2013 back. Allsup told me when he arrived that he had been told my son was involved in a shooting that happened 10 till 11 days ago and a woman was fighting for her life. He was and still today just do not want to verify my son’s alibi. This has been the worst 13 years of my family’s life. And Kocka could make it all go away if he admits INEFFECTIVE COUNSEL he gave to my son, by not appealing my son’s case. But instead he railroaded a plea deal that could take up to 32 years of my son’s life for a crime he did not commit. And no one was killed in this shooting. The photos i have attached shows the Detective summons reads that 911 calls were received @23:18, all the photos from the footage shows my son on camera before 23:18 going into the bathroom for a shower and coming out after in a towel. HE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN 2 PLACES AT THE SAME TIME IS ALL KOCKA HAD TO SAY 13 YEARS AGO. This is what Attorney Kocka has not presented these last 13 years and the conviction review unit has had this footage as well and refuse to show my son’s innocence. So what kind of Attorney do you want, someone who will fight for your innocence or someone who will hide the truth? Kocka is now on a cane looking very frail, so i hope he grows a conscience before he leaves this earth. To meet his maker. And help my son overturn a crime he did not commit. My Son & I has reached out to Kocka many times in writings from my son. And me calling and trying to see him he never has answered me or my Son’s letters. I would not recommend this Attorney.

The frank kocka. Law firm came highly recommended his not just a lawyer, or just professional at what he does , he has a good heart , at the time when other law firm proved difficult and were charging way too high , frank kocka himself took a reasonable amount , and put his time and effort and got my case dismissed, he is a professional and the lawyer you should go to .am very much happy 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
