From the beginning, communication was lacking. I constantly had to follow up for updates and often felt completely in the dark about what was happening with my own case.

I hired this firm to handle the eviction process and to keep me informed. After nearly three months, I was told — only because I called — that the sheriff would be coming out on February 12th at 8:00 a.m. Later that same day, my real estate agent and building management (who have a key to the condo) entered the unit because of a strong odor in the hallway. That’s when they found a sheriff’s one-day notice dated January 22nd!!!

The tenant had already moved out on January 23rd and left food in the refrigerator, which caused damage to the property. I’m struggling to understand how the sheriff’s notice had been served weeks earlier and I was never informed.

This entire situation has been frustrating and stressful. Lisa, Zhandra, and Yari — I am extremely dissatisfied with how this was handled.

Completly incompetant !! Delays and no answers to your questions after you have filed and paid!! Save yourself a huge headache, waste of your time and dissapointment, hire anyone else!!

Very rude attorney. Only has his staff call to ask for payment and is impossible to get a hold of her. The eviction process is terrible my unpaying tenants haven’t been removed after 2 months. At least the office staff is nice but it’s a different person handling my case every time I call. Very disappointed

It was a good firm a year ago, but this year several paralegals left. AJ, one of the good ones, was among them. This year we had a case in the final judgment stage that should have been quick and easy, but with Rosanna, the lawyer assigned to our case, that was not the case. We received no answers and only silence to any big or small questions we asked.

We tried everything—multiple emails and many phone calls—but we could only ever reach the receptionist. Every small question took a minimum of three weeks to get a response, and when we finally did receive one, it only came with more questions thrown back at us instead of solutions or guidance. The fee for the final judgment was $350, which we prepaid, and then we were pushed into settlement drafting for another $750 (we didn't receive any advice on how to proceed in eviction and mislead us into settlement). Three months later, there was still no progress.

We ultimately had to switch lawyers. With our new lawyer, the entire process was completed in just two weeks (including rid of possession), and we got our property back today. I am now finally able to sit down and write this review about Eviction Law Firm, which cost me a lot of time, money, and stress. Rosanna mentioned a possible refund for not doing her job, but of course, nothing was ever done.

it is unfortunate that people with this degree of incompetence are allowed to present themselves as serving your interests. They operate with paralegals, mainly, and you will never have a chance to speak to the actual lawyers. The paralegals are invariably clueless about your case and have even less knowledge of the law and your rights as a landlord. The office in general fails to notify you on time of court decisions so that evicting a client takes forever, and when you need them to represent you on a hearing they show up late! In my case the lawyer representing me, Rosana, stumbled through her notes - unprepared. She also never actually provided us with actual advice and simply forced us to accept whatever she felt, which sadly was always wrong.

Addendum, addressing response: Yes, your lawyer won the case (despite not being fully acquainted with the details of the case), but unfortunately she failed to request that the final judgmenent from the court was entered into the official record, which not only gave the evicted tenant a chance to prolong the case, but forced me to find a new lawyer to represent me on appeal.
