LAW CARE: David A. Colecchia and Associates

I retained Attorney David Colecchia for representation through my preliminary hearing. During the representation, I repeatedly asked for clarification about evidence review, preservation of records, witness issues, and hearing strategy. Many of those questions were never meaningfully answered. I provided an organized evidence packet before the hearing, but Attorney Colecchia ultimately told me that the videos did not matter and continued to focus on Castle Doctrine despite my repeated requests for a broader explanation of the strategy and my options. I did not feel I received the information or explanation I needed to make informed decisions about my own case. At the courthouse, after I refused to sign a document containing language I did not agree with, the attorney-client relationship broke down and Attorney Colecchia withdrew. I requested my complete file and an itemized accounting immediately afterward and followed up several times. I did not receive an itemized invoice until it was produced for the first time at a later fee-dispute hearing. A fee dispute is currently pending, so I will not comment on its outcome. This review is limited to my own experience with the communication, preparation, and handling of my representation. Based on that experience, I would not retain this office again.

Met with a Justin Schantz. They didn't bother to read documents I had sent ahead of our appointment, and it was quite clear they had absolutely no desire to help.
