I hired Michael Kushner in 2014 and paid over $12,000 for representation. What I received in return was one of the most destabilizing experiences of my life.

From the beginning, communication was a serious issue. Calls went unanswered. Emails were ignored. I often felt like I was chasing my own attorney just to understand what was happening in my own case. During critical moments, that kind of silence is not just frustrating, it is terrifying.

He rarely appeared in person for my court dates in Warren County, and there were multiple instances where he was late or absent. The most alarming example was my arraignment, where he arrived hours late. Being left without your attorney at a moment like that is something I would not wish on anyone. What should have been structured and guided instead felt chaotic and unprotected.

Throughout the process, I frequently felt pressured into decisions I did not fully understand or feel comfortable with. As someone with no prior experience navigating the legal system, I relied completely on my attorney for clarity and advocacy. Instead, I often felt alone in a system I did not understand, trying to make life altering decisions without meaningful guidance.

Even after the case concluded, when I reached out regarding a completely inaccurate and defamatory public reporting that affected my reputation, I was met with indifference. There was no follow up, no support, and no real sense of accountability.

When you hire an attorney, you are trusting them with your future. You expect responsiveness. You expect presence. You expect someone who shows up consistently and stands beside you. In my experience, that is not what I received.

If clear communication, reliability, and having your attorney actually show up for you matter, I would urge you to think carefully before making your decision.

The worst law firm you can ever hire!!! I had a case that I could of beaten many years ago in 2013 and instead of Michael kushner doing exactly what he was being paid to do (fight my case) instead he allowed the correction officers to get away with almost killing me and also we were suppose to go to trial and instead he lied to me about him coming to visit me in the county to practice for trial with questions and answers. And not only that, he talked me into taking an illegal plea deal that made sure I can’t appeal my case!!! If you hire him, best believe he’s only there for the money and probably favors from the district attorney
