I inquired about getting a prenup and gave our information to the admin staff, who set up our free 30 minute consultation. When we got on the consult meeting with Dan, he didn't have any of the info or even know what we were talking about that day. I didn't feel like I got much guidance and honestly, it seemed like he had never done a prenup before. He suggested Forward Legal to represent my partner, and it wasn't until we worked with them, that we realized just how unorganized Dan was. His tornado mess of a desk characterized the service we received. Kohls and Mackie created our prenup but also invoiced us for the 'free meeting' ($275). After I mentioned something about the invoice, they did remove it from our bill without an apology. Was it the absolute worst experience? No. But for $550 per hour I was certainly unimpressed and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Also, we found it inconvenient that you can only pay them via cash or check via snail mail.
