I initially had a very positive impression of Joshua Lim. During our first conversation he was kind, listened carefully to my story, and seemed genuinely outraged by how the situation had been handled. He spoke confidently about recent settlements his firm had achieved and said he would try to settle before filing a lawsuit. He also mentioned that his whole team would be involved in the case, which gave me a lot of hope.

However, after I signed the paperwork, the experience was very different from what was described. I was told we would have a Zoom meeting with the team to discuss the case, but that never happened. I never spoke with anyone at the firm other than Joshua. I also created a very organized Google Drive with all of my documents and evidence, but there was little feedback and minimal communication.

The firm eventually sent a draft complaint, and then the next day sent a completely different version that had major changes with no explanation. Shortly after, the defendant’s lawyer raised statute of limitations issues. A few days later I was told the firm would no longer represent me. I was surprised they would not even attempt to file the complaint.

The lack of communication and the abrupt withdrawal were extremely disappointing. I really regret working with the firm and feel that my opportunity to find justice is now lost.

*UPDATE*
After posting my initial review, I had to spend additional time contacting the firm to request that they revise their public response, as it contained multiple inaccurate claims. The response was ultimately edited, but only after I pointed out that corrections were necessary.
Even after those revisions, their reply continues to introduce vague claims about “new facts” and suggests that my case was different from what was initially presented, without identifying what those facts were or how they changed the viability of the case. This is concerning, as I provided extensive documentation and a fully organized record of events before they agreed to represent me and before I signed the retainer agreement.
Their response also states that there was an “open line of communication,” which does not reflect my experience at all. There was no team meeting as originally described, very limited communication other than me asking for updates and there was no meaningful explanation for major revisions to the complaint. In fact, the first and second drafts of the complaint were extremely different and were sent only one day apart, without any explanation for the significant changes. The decision to withdraw also came abruptly, shortly after statute of limitations concerns were raised.
Importantly, their response does not address the core issues raised in my review — specifically the lack of communication, the unexplained changes in legal strategy, and the decision not to proceed with filing despite prior assurances.
I am sharing this update so that others have a complete and accurate understanding of my experience.

While legal fees can feel frustrating at times—trust me, I am still there—it’s important to understand that the cost is not driven by unnecessary legal work. It reflects top-level advocacy and, often, the reality that opposing parties do not cooperate, which unfortunately increases time and expense.

To be honest, going through litigation also exposes you to opposing counsel, and it can be disappointing to see how some lawyers conduct themselves. In contrast, Joshua and his team consistently demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and respect for the court process.
