In my recent court hearing, the judge called Mr Kandel’s legal briefs "sloppy" and his legal reasoning "crazy." He arrived at the deposition late, disorganized and disheveled, smacking gum while asking ill-formed questions. I talked to more than a dozen regional bankruptcy lawyers, and Kandel has a solid reputation as lacking strategy and generating reems of meaningless paperwork to drive up client costs. He uses legal processes to inflict damage, not find resolution.
