It took 5 years to resolve our claim. Our experience with tort litigation is that it is best to file suit as soon as practicable and let the threat of trial cause the defendant to engage in settlement much earlier. The Joye firm waited three years before filing. Also, our experience is that a litigation firm charges a smaller contingency for cases that settle versus those that have to be tried in court. The Joye firm charged 40% for a settlement. Also, it appears that the Joye firm subtracts its fees before applying the costs, so that the client has to pay all the costs. Fairness would dictate that the costs of litigation should be deducted before their 40% fee is assessed.

I can't complain at all. If they needed any info, they contacted me. If I had any questions they responded back fairly quickly. And once the settlement was done Ms Angelia did her best to get it to me. All in all, a pleasant experience.
