Client Reviews
Despite the legal requirement that children be placed with suitable family members when possible, Jennifer took no meaningful action to ensure CPS followed that mandate. Instead, she deferred to the McCracken County Family Court—whose rulings, in my experience, violated both constitutional and ethical standards.
When an Emergency Custody Order (ECO) was issued across state lines, Jennifer did not challenge its legality, even though the affidavit supporting it was expired and the order lacked a second judicial signature. Under Kentucky law (KRS 620.060), an ECO must be issued by the county where the child is physically present. My newborn son was in Tennessee at the time, meaning the order was improperly issued and never registered in that state. Despite this, Jennifer, CPS, and the county attorney proceeded with the removal. When CPS denied me access to critical records she did nothing. In these records I would have discovered the lies coming from the social workers who absolutely hated me and never had any intention of returning my children back to me. Some of those lies are that TPR already happened with my older children. Another lie in the record is that they claimed I expressed fear I was going to harm my newborn when those words were never uttered out of my mouth. Let’s not forget where they put that I seriously abused my newborn son. So many lies that she did nothing to stop. If you want an attorney who’s going to stand for the lies and not fight for your children’s best interest then she is definitely the attorney you want.
My son was taken from the hospital at just four days old—despite no evidence of abuse or neglect and even after social workers admitted under oath that I had not harmed him. Jennifer also ignored serious ethical concerns, including indications that the foster parents had been promised my unborn child before his birth. Rather than question these actions, she appeared to go along with the plan presented by CPS.
This lack of advocacy stands in stark contrast to what is expected of a GAL. An attorney in this role should act independently, ensure the law is followed, and protect the child’s rights—not enable procedural misconduct. Unfortunately, Jennifer’s inaction reflected a pattern of compliance with a deeply flawed system.
From my experience, there is also a clear disparity between the performance of privately retained attorneys and those who are court-appointed. When attorneys are paid privately, they often show greater diligence and commitment. When appointed, however, that same level of effort is rarely seen. This difference was evident in my case and directly impacted my children’s futures.
I have shared supporting documentation and recordings on my TikTok account (@madams95), including videos of social workers’ conduct and altered documents that were ignored by officials. I also have multiple community programs visiting my home weekly, verifying my daughter’s safety and well-being—further proving that my children would have been safe if returned home.
I continue to fight for justice and expect the truth to come to light as my case moves forward, including before the Supreme Court of Kentucky. I am confident that the violations that occurred will be exposed and that accountability will follow.
If you are assigned this attorney as your child’s GAL, I strongly recommend requesting a different representative or filing formal complaints if she fails to advocate for your children as required by law.
I am doing well, continuing to parent my daughter, and preparing for the next stage of this legal battle. When the case is remanded to family court, I will be ready—with evidence, witnesses, and the law on my side. My children will come home, and those responsible for the unlawful actions against my family will be held accountable. Hopefully behind bars where they belong.
