I worked with this firm on a probate matter tied to the sale of a property in the Indianapolis area, and the experience raised serious concerns. It's unusual for me to be involved in probate matters as the sales side of the transaction does not need to work with common procedural matters.

My client hired me to sell a home owned by his late mother. During title work, we discovered probate had not been completed, and the title company's underwriter referred us to this firm strictly to handle that legal process.

Shortly after engagement, the firm began questioning the sales contract and documents already in place—despite being hired only for probate. I advised my client that their role was limited to probate, not the sale itself.

Once probate was completed, they determined the previously signed documents were invalid due to timing. From there, rather than simply resolving the issue and allowing the transaction to move forward appropriately, they became directly involved in the sale, explored alternative buyer options, and ultimately removed both myself and the original title company from the transaction.

Additionally, my client relayed to me that he was advised not to pay for services that had already been completed. This included approximately six months of work preparing the home for sale, addressing title issues, and marketing the property to off-market buyers we were able to secure several and well above our initial buyers interested.

In my opinion, this went beyond the scope of probate representation and created unnecessary disruption to an existing transaction.

-They interfered with the process of marketing and selling the property
-Instructed my client to no longer communicate with me and they even moved to a different title company (which is who referred them in the first place!)
-Advised my client that previously rendered services did not need to be paid

If you are uncomfortable with the potential for interference in the sale process, you may want to carefully consider your options before engaging this firm.
