Mr. Jenkins is a very out standing man with impeccable character. He graduated from Baylor law school and I think served on the board of regents at Baylor University. My cousin also graduated from Baylor and he too, is a respected man in Ellis county.
I have decided to post this review so anyone else in Ellis county that gets him as a court appointed attorney can read this. I can tell you without a doubt that he will NOT represent you and that he does exactly what the DA tells him to. All attorneys are officers of the court first, and represent their clients second. But in my opinion, he is an officer of the court and does exactly what the DA wants regardless of the best interest of his "client." I was prepared to pay the top of the scale as far as the fine goes ($4,000) spend some time in jail, and be done with my mistake in Ellis county. But on my court date, it was "crammed down my throat " that I would pay a $950 fine with 2 years probation. Like I told him the first day we met, I, Steve Bolgiano am not a candidate for probation, but here I am.
So if my probation gets "violated," I wonder if he will represent me for free. I seriously doubt it. Good luck to you.

I hired James Jenkins to handle my divorce. When I went for the initial visit, he advised me & my husband to seek marriage counseling. I thought this was a good idea. We went to the marriage counselor he suggested. I found out my husband is not only a narcissist, but handles his anger in a passive aggressive manner. I was advised by the counselor to get a divorce. The counselor explained to me that narcissism and passive aggression are the hardest things counselors' battle and that it would only become a battle back & forth between the counselor and my husband.
I went back to Mr. Jenkins & explained this whole sad situation to him. He took my $3,000 up front promising that would be the full amount I had to pay for temporary hearing, divorce, "everything". Well, everything went well until my husband hired an attorney. At that point, it just seemed that Mr. Jenkins shutdown. He let my divorce case get thrown out & made me pay another $200 plus to get it started again. He promptly advised my husband's attorney of every word & strategy I was planning to try to protect mine & my minor child's interests. I had to tell him to stop! I found e-mails from my husband's attorney telling him that he would tell Mr. Jenkins to make me behave! In short, Mr. Jenkins ended up doing nothing except taking my money. I am still married to this monster and Mr. Jenkins refuses to put the case back in court so I can get a divorce & the settlement me & my minor child deserve. The best Mr. Jenkins could come up with was for me sign an agreement that I will move out of my home that my Daddy paid up front for in my inheritance so it can be sold as soon as my daughter graduates. If I keep the house, he wants me to relinquish all rights to my husband's retirement that I worked at jobs that did not provide retirement at to help him get! I am 57 years old with diabetes. Mr. Jenkins would not even ask the judge for alimony for a temporary period while I went back to college. I had to incur huge college loans that I am still paying for. It is like my narcissist, passive aggressive husband charmed Mr. Jenkins, too & won him over to believing I am an unreasonable witch that deserves nothing. Nothing is what I got with James Jenkins. Be wary of hiring Mr. Jenkins for any legal matter! He talks a good show until he gets your money. He'll tell you "everything" is included, but will continually ask for more. There were other times I had to remind Mr. Jenkins to make his word good.
