Like many people who have found themselves in the legal system, I met Jacob at the lowest point of my life. His communication, dedication, and commitment to his clients far exceed anything I have ever experienced or expected from a lawyer. But what stands out to me most about Jacob isn't simply what he did as my attorney—it is the way he treated me as a person. There was a one-on-one conversation I had with Jacob early on that truly changed the trajectory of my life. From that moment forward, I wanted to prove to him, to the courts, and most importantly, to myself, that I wasn't just another case number or statistic. Jacob has never made me feel defined by the choices I made during the darkest parts of my life. He has consistently treated me like someone who is worthy of grace, forgiveness, and the opportunity to move forward. During some of the most uncertain, frightening, and overwhelming moments of this past year, Jacob was always there—with positive affirmation, encouragement, honesty, and the reassurance that I was capable of becoming more than the worst thing I had ever done. He advocated for me in a way that, in my 36 years of life, no one else ever has. His belief in me became a source of strength when I needed it most, and I truly believe that belief helped propel me into an entirely new chapter of my life—one that I am grateful and excited to wake up and live every day. Today, I am sober and in recovery. My children and I are thriving. I am a business owner, I am building a life I am proud of, and I am moving forward with a completely different mindset and purpose. I genuinely believe Jacob's belief in me—that I could be more than what was written on paper—played a significant part in helping me get here. If I could tell anyone considering Jacob as their attorney one thing, it would be this: his determination, tenacity, dedication, and compassion don't just make him an exceptional lawyer—they speak to the kind of person he is. I have had the absolute privilege of knowing Jacob over this past year. Under normal circumstances, reaching the end of a case would mean being relieved that you no longer have to maintain contact with your attorney. But I can honestly say that I will miss having Jacob's support and encouragement in my life. I am forever grateful that, during one of the darkest chapters of my life, I had an attorney who didn't just see my past—he saw my potential for a future. Thank you, Jacob, for believing in me when I was still learning how to believe in myself.
