I need to be completely honest with this review.

At first glance, attorney Peter Chu appears to be very professional based on all the positive reviews he has received, and I’m not saying he isn’t. However, my experience left me very disappointed.

I am the child of a U.S. citizen, I entered the country legally, and I clearly fall into the immediate relative category. I contacted attorney Peter Chu to pursue an adjustment of status, which is a very common process and, in my case, a fairly straightforward one.

He asked me a few questions, but what caught my attention was that after asking where I was born and hearing my answer, his attitude toward me completely changed. In a very blunt manner, he told me there was absolutely no way for me to adjust my status.

Throughout all my experiences with immigration attorneys, not a single one had ever told me that I was ineligible to adjust status. Despite my repeated questions, he provided very little explanation and simply insisted that it was impossible.

A few days later, I received an email that essentially acknowledged he had made a mistake. The message indicated that he had jumped to conclusions based on his own assumptions and wanted to meet again to continue discussing the case. By then, I had already signed a contract with another law firm, where I felt much more comfortable, respected, and genuinely heard.

I responded that I no longer needed his services and explained how I felt. Honestly, I felt cheated. The consultation lasted no more than three minutes, yet I paid a substantial amount of money for it.

I’m not saying this law firm makes money solely from consultation appointments, but that is certainly how this experience made me feel.

My honest recommendation is to look elsewhere for your immigration needs.
