Super disappointing law firm. They charged me $350 for a consultation fee with no answers at all. As a landlord was looking to find a tenant for unpaid rent and the lawyer couldn't lead me in the right direction. Just stated that they cannot find tenants and couldn't provide the next steps on how to go about this. If that was the case they shouldn't of taken my money. The lawyer also wasn't prepared before the call and didn't go over the tenants lease and was reading. don't go here if your a landlord because there willing to take your money with no results.

Beth Paxton and Susan Benoit with Hutchens and Senter were a pleasure to work with. They were both very knowledgeable and responded to my questions/requests very quickly. I would recommend them for any real estate needs!

I attended multiple meetings involving attorney Davis Puryear while he represented my mother in estate and civil litigation matters, and what I witnessed was deeply concerning. The representation was disorganized, inconsistent, and, in my opinion, highly unprofessional considering the amount of money charged.

Throughout the process, there appeared to be little organization or preparation. Meetings often involved confusion about facts that had already been discussed multiple times, missing information, and repeated errors. Important documents and details seemed poorly managed, and my mother was frequently left doing work that counsel should have been handling, including gathering records, organizing evidence, and contacting witnesses herself.

I personally witnessed inaccurate statements being made, shifting explanations, and repeated contradictions regarding billing, filings, and case handling. We repeatedly requested an itemized accounting explaining nearly $30,000 in legal fees, yet meaningful explanations were never provided. Separate legal matters were also combined together in billing.

At one point, my mother was instructed to obtain bank records for an account she repeatedly explained she did not have, only for Mr. Puryear to later admit the request was made in error. She was also instructed to move forward with actions involving estate property before ownership and title issues had even been properly verified, which later resulted in additional legal complications and expenses.

Despite being provided with extensive supporting evidence, records, and witness information, many critical issues were never meaningfully challenged. Important inconsistencies in the opposing side’s allegations were overlooked, and concerns raised by our family were often dismissed or ignored.

What was most alarming was the lack of accountability and professionalism when concerns were raised. After repeated requests to speak directly with senior leadership regarding these issues, the firm ultimately withdrew from representation.

Based on what I personally witnessed throughout this process, I would not recommend Davis Puryear or this representation to families dealing with sensitive estate or litigation matters.
