Post Amendment: Congratulations to the reader. If you are reading this post you are probably in the same position that I was 2-3 years ago. You have a great idea and come to a fork in the road. Should spend hard-earned money on an idea that may not pan out?

Dan was direct, honest, and also encouraging. About six months after my re-submission to the USPTO Dan forwarded me a long email that sounded to be another rejection. Hearing what sounded like bad news, I sent Dan and email to say "I quit". Dan called to say that I completely misread the email. Couched in legal jargon was a tentative approval! They needed some additional information then it was going to be final. Dan carried the entire operation to completion and we finally secured the approval. The process took longer than expected bc I didnt want to spend more money than necessary. BUt the project was finally successful.

Whether you choose Dan Cohn or not he is worth the time to talk and run various scenarios. I dealt directly with Dan, he always gave plenty of time to decide, and always returned my calls. Also, I spoke only to Dan and did not deal with anyone else which eliminated the confusion factor.

First Post: Dan Cohn and his staff have been outstanding to work with over the past two years. They provided sound advice and communicated in tech-speak language to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for me to secure a utility patent on an intellectual property item.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced the USPTO staff to severely curtail office hours. This resulted in significant delays in their review, processing, and responses. Even with all the delays and setbacks Dan's team maintained full duplex communication with both myself and the examination officer.
