Calvin Honaker got assigned to my case because my public defender withdrew because of a conflict of interest. Despite normally being retained counsel, and having to sit in as a court appointed attorney, making far less money, as well as my case being pretty cut and dry, Mr. Honaker still approached my case with the same aggressive stance as he would have with a paying client. During my final court date, and after almost 2 hours of negotiating with the state, he was able to return to me with an extremely reasonable deal. He saw things my way, and we agreed on pretty much every topic of my case. He fought for my restitution to be waived because of details pertaining to the case, and was even able to get my bond and probation conditions modified so I could leave the state. All in all, I’ve had more public defenders than I can count, and Mr. Honaker was by far the best one I’ve had represent me in court.
