After applying for benefits on my own, and having been denied twice, it soon led to frustration. I had given up the fight. A few years had passed when I ran into someone whom I had worked with prior. He used Diane Harr's services and received a favorable award, and encouraged me to call John Hoots. I did. This was 2 years and 7 months ago. The staff at HDLS, made me aware of the process and asked for my patience mentioning it could take 2 to 3 years and that it would benefit me to have realistic expectations. After the second denial I wanted to give up. As fate would have it, I ran into this friend again, shared my story. He said don't give up, you'll win your case. So I contacted John and we filed an appeal. A year and 7-1/2 months later, on July 30, 2026, the Social Security Administration Benefit Verification Letter stated: We found that you became disabled under our rules on December 31, 2020. This judgement literally changes my life. Guaranteed income, after no income, for 6 years 7-1/2 months. I am indebted to HDLS. Thank you so much for helping me.
