My mother in law loved this firm when she was doing her estate planning so in that regard they do a nice job. The one star is because of our experience during the settlement phase: extremely slow handling a simple non contentious estate (over 3 1/2 years and counting), incorrect disbursements, Incorrect participants listed in deed transfer, names misspelled, slow response to return phone calls or e mails. For how much lawyers charge I would expect a higher level of competency. If you have done your estate planning through this firm please tell your heirs to go elsewhere to settle your estate.

Closing an estate typically takes 9 to 18 months, but can be as short as 6 months for simple estates. Our estate was very simple: a couple of life insurance policies, 1 retirement account and a savings account to be equally divided and immediately paid out according to one will. This began in 2020 and is still unsettled and ongoing as of today in 2026. A small check ( among many others prior), was again distributed as recently as this week. Again, it is 2026 ... six years later. No explanation has been provided of where the remaing funds are located, why they are still in the law firms account, where the funds have been, why the distributions have yet to be finalized. This law firm is TOTALLY INCOMPETENT. Don't be afraid to go outside of Shenango Valley to look for an elder attorney that can manage the simplest of estates, let alone more complex ones.
