I have purchased two houses over the past five years. On both occasions, I utilized the expert services of Harrell, Martin & Peace (HMP). To say that the process was "seamless" would be an understatement.
HMP is the BEST law firm in South Carolina. Every member of the staff is well versed in the home buying and closing process. Every time I called the office with a question, whoever answered the phone provided me with accurate information in a timely manner. I always received a response and a resolution by the close of business. The phone is always answered by a knowledgeable, friendly and professional member of the HMP team.
When I purchased my second home, there were a few challenges that needed to be navigated. Some of the issues were on the "Sellers" end of the transaction. Although the seller retained their own attorney, HMP stepped up to the plate by utilizing their extensive knowledge in Real Estate law to overcome a major hurdle that would have delayed our closing by two additional weeks. HMP resolved the issue within forty-eight hours.
The great thing about HMP is that the office is a well-oiled machine and every member of the team works hard to get you across the finish line. Every member of the staff had knowledge of my transaction, and they always addressed my concerns with the utmost professionalism.
While every member of the HMP team is an All Star, I would be remiss if I did not mention some of the fine folks who were especially helpful on my particular closing;
Lisa D. and Karin F. made sure that all of my correspondence and financial transactions were accurately recorded, and they provided me with timely updates.
Kaley W. tackled the lion's share of the title work and did an amazing job helping us in the final forty-eight hours prior to closing to get us over the finish line. I am pretty sure that she went above and beyond her normal duties to "assist" the seller's attorney.
And then, there is Ryan W. Ryan is the woman whom I predominately had contact with during our real estate closing journey. Ryan is blessed with an incredible amount of knowledge, a "can-do" work ethic (I don't think she takes a break for lunch) and an abundance of patience. Ryan seemed to know every single detail of our closing. She had answers to questions that we did not even know that we needed. Ryan kept us in the loop and helped us make every single deadline. In a word, Ryan is amazing!
But you cannot call yourself a law firm without lawyers. And HMP has the best. We were blessed to have Jeremy Martin represent us on the two separate occasions that we purchased houses. Jeremy's wealth of knowledge in real estate law is second to none. His reputation in the community as well as his extensive experience in navigating all types of residential real estate transactions made both of our home purchases a seamless and well executed process. Jeremy took the time to explain the intricacies of our particularly tricky home purchase to us in a simple to understand manner. When an obstacle presented itself the day before our scheduled closing, Jeremy ensured that the HMP team had the resources to quickly address the situation with the banks and the seller's attorney and we were ready to close within two business days. Our closing went smooth and Jeremy stayed in the office with us even after the funds were cleared to answer our questions and give us guidance.
