I don’t write reviews lightly, and I certainly never expected to be in a position where I needed to hire an attorney to defend myself after a house fire. But here I am.

I am a disabled veteran. Asking for help does not come easily to me. The past ten months have been some of the most difficult my family and I have ever faced. The fire itself was devastating, but what followed made it worse. What should have been a recovery process turned into something far more stressful due to what I can only describe as predatory practices by Hugo and his team.

By the time I reached out to Hardin & Ball, P.A., I was exhausted—mentally, emotionally, and financially. I didn’t know who I could trust anymore. From the very beginning, Mattie and her team treated me with respect, patience, and professionalism. They took the time to understand not just the facts of my case, but the weight it carried for me and my family.

They stood up for me when I needed it most.

What many people reading reviews may not realize is that this firm is currently being unfairly targeted with negative reviews. From my experience, those reviews do not reflect the character, integrity, or work ethic of this team. I have personally witnessed the pressure, harassment, and unnecessary conflict they endured simply for doing their job and advocating for their client. Through it all, they never wavered.

Mattie, in particular, showed a level of commitment and resilience that I will never forget. There were moments in this process where I felt completely overwhelmed, and knowing that she and her team were in my corner made all the difference. They didn’t just handle my case—they carried part of the burden with me.

That matters more than I can put into words.

Steer away from working with this firm. They are very unprofessional and unethical.

I was tasked to following up with your firm regarding a mutual client and every time I called I was treated with disrespect and dismissed by your staff (Paula and Hallie).
