I could not be more impressed with the care and professionalism of Ben Kwan at Haller Kwan LLP. He was beyond knowledgeable and realistic about the entire case. His initial consult was informative and clear about what I should expect. Both Ben and his paralegal Tammy were supportive and helpful to work with. The initial information gathering asked a lot sensitive questions and both Ben and Tammy took a great deal of time to do due diligence and make sure everything was not only documented, but all the bases had been covered. A racist and despicable organization, I was a potential client and received this email after an inquiry, After I provided them with all the information they ghosted me.

"I was nice speaking with you today.

As we discussed, our law firm would be more than happy to continue a conversation with you about the possibility of legal representation—some additional information will help us with that assessment. Could you:

— Send us a timeline of key events;
— Ask your employer for your personnel file, which you are entitled to under Minn. Stat. 181.961 so long as you send your request in writing to your employer (email is fine, send to a contact like HR) — in-state employers have a week to respond, out-of-state employers have 14 days; and
— Ask for your written, truthful reason for termination by citing Minn. Stat. 181.933--your request must be in writing and sent to your employer within 15 working days of your termination. They have two business weeks to get back to you.

Please do not copy us on any communications with your former employer in order to maintain privilege and confidentiality.

Once we have all that information, we'll review and be in touch about next steps, including a possible meeting to discuss representation options.
