**BEWARE - Incompetent Representation, Excessive Billing, Abandoned Case**

**Rating: 1 Star**

I hired this law firm in December 2025 to establish parenting rights with my son. I paid $1500 upfront and paid another $1800 as the process went on. They have now dropped me as a client while demanding an additional $6,200 for work that was never completed.

**LACK OF BASIC LEGAL KNOWLEDGE:**
- Did not know that EPOs involving children automatically trigger CPS involvement
- Told me DNA test would cost $40; actual cost was $290
- Expressed surprise that drug test cost $300
- Appeared unfamiliar with basic courtroom procedures

**FAILURE TO FOLLOW CLIENT INSTRUCTIONS:**
- I explicitly told Rebecca Davis NOT to allow a continuance
- In court, she said absolutely nothing when opposing counsel requested continuance
- The continuance was granted, delaying my access to my son

**POOR CASE MANAGEMENT:**
- Never sent me the plaintiff's drug test results despite multiple requests only to say Amphetamines popped up on hers
- Never sent MY drug test results to opposing counsel (this became one of the excuses for the continuance)
- Asked me four separate times if I completed the DNA test while they charge for email communication
- Ordered a drug test before the DNA test (counterproductive sequencing)
- Asked for unnecessary screenshots, then charged me to review them

**QUESTIONABLE BILLING PRACTICES:**
- $450 charge for Vanessa Durham "consulting on DNA test" on 3/23 - when she only said 3 things to me (introduced herself, stated as long as I had a plan to pay them. Everything would be good, and they would get me parenting time before the next court date once DNA results came back)
- $285 for "conference to combat opposing counsel's delay tactics" - nothing was actually done in court
- Once again, multiple emails asking if I took the DNA whilst they charge for email communication
- Charges for reviewing screenshots that were unnecessary despite already having relevant screenshots
- Once again they did nothing in court outside of motion hour
**BROKEN PROMISES:**
- Promised parenting time with my son before the next court date once DNA results came in
- Dropped me as client before fulfilling this promise
- Louis Watermen said his paralegal would handle everything because he's $500/hour, but continued charging for his involvement anyway

**UNPROFESSIONAL COURTROOM CONDUCT:**
- Rebecca Davis spoke disrespectfully to court personnel
- Appeared to have an emotional breakdown inside the courtroom even though court was already over with
- Said nothing to advance my case despite billing for court appearance

**UNETHICAL STATEMENTS:**
When I questioned why opposing counsel would file an EPO "riddled with lies," Rebecca Davis said she would have advised the same thing if she were their attorney. This shows a fundamental lack of ethics.

**RESULT:**
After paying $3,300 and accruing $6,200 in additional charges, the only things accomplished were a drug test and DNA test - both prompted by opposing counsel, not my attorneys. I have received little paperwork, no test results, one strategy, and no parenting time. The gap between my son and I has only widened.

They ignored my communications, failed to provide basic services, demonstrated courtroom incompetence, and abandoned my case at a critical juncture. This feels like a complete MONEY GRAB, and there is probably a lot more of the above. I just haven't gotten there yet.

**I strongly advise against hiring this firm for family law matters.**
