I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel strongly that others should be aware of this experience before spending their money.

Due to my profession, I have attended many court hearings, and what I witnessed in this case was very concerning and unlike anything I’ve seen before. Mr. Gahagan was paid $15,000 for representation, yet during the hearing he stated that he had not received the necessary documents for the case to proceed. However, I personally saw proof that these documents had been sent to him more than two weeks prior to the deadline he had to submit them to the court.

Whether this was a failure on his part or an issue within his office, I cannot say for certain—but the result was the same: he was unprepared for court and ultimately his client was denied the opportunity for a proper hearing. The Judge stated that the case could be denied immediately and that even an appeal would likely not be successful.
This was especially difficult to witness given the circumstances. The client has lived in the United States for 19 years since he was the age of 13, has no criminal history, has worked consistently, and has children who were born here. Multiple individuals, including myself, were present and prepared to speak to his character and contributions, yet none of that mattered due to the lack of preparation the hearing couldn’t take place.

It felt as though little to no effort was made to advocate for the client. Instead, the focus shifted to the attorney expressing that he felt criticized by the client’s fiancée. In a situation where a family is facing permanent separation—after investing $15,000 in legal representation—concern and frustration are completely understandable.

As someone who works in a professional field, I cannot imagine providing this level of representation to a client and being able to justify it. Watching a family go through this, especially under these circumstances, was extremely disheartening.

Based on what I witnessed, I would not recommend this attorney.

04/30/2026 update: this court hearing I have spoken of was on 4/28/2026 the same evening I left my review. I was a character witness on the case for this attorneys client, in which he was aware of. He had seen my letter that was sent certified mail to his law firm. I was also present on the court session via video as was he on 4/28/2026. On 4/29/2026 Mr. Gahagan contacted my place of work speaking with the Director of Hunan Resources trying to intimidate me to delete my Google review since he does not have access to delete these. Mr. Gahagan even made the statement to the HR Director that he was going to leave a bad review on our agency, which speaks volumes about him to threaten to retaliate because of an honest review someone left him that did not affiliate themself with their place of employment at all. I in fact did change my review to change the $ amount as I had originally stated $20,000 which is what the client had paid total to the law firm and the other entity they was told to pay; therefore, I changed it to $15,000 as that is what she paid the Gahagan law firm directly. That change and this update are the only times my review have been edited, and this edited update would not have been added had Mr. Gahagan not called my place of work to try and intimidate me to delete the review.
