My family has used Funkhouser Law for several legal matters over the years and always had positive things to say, so I felt confident hiring them for my family-law case. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. My goals were to maintain the existing parenting schedule and obtain a formal child-support order. Dani was my primary attorney, and while parenting time remained unchanged, the other parent who was pro-se was successful on nearly every financial issue he raised. His child support was reduced, he received a deviation, and he obtained the tax-related relief he requested. I was told his motion had been filed incorrectly and was given the impression that he was unlikely to succeed. I was not prepared for the outcome. I do earn significantly more than he reports earning, but he operates a cash business and left a job shortly after the case began where he had earned approximately $20,000 to $30,000 more per year. I declined to pay for a forensic accountant because of the additional cost, but I still expected his prior earnings, earning capacity, and cash-based income to at least be raised at the hearings, they were not. Overall, I have paid thousands of dollars and still owe thousands more, yet I am considering further legal action because I remain unhappy with the result. I understand that no attorney can guarantee an outcome. My frustration is that I do not feel the financial issues were argued as strongly as they could have been. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm to someone seeking aggressive representation in a contested family-law case.

Had nothing but excellent service with Doug Funkhouser. Very knowledgeable, professional and always happy to answer any questions on any issues. I highly recommend Doug and will be referring him to anyone that has legal issues in the future. 10/10 experience and very satisfied with his services.

Best place and worth the money. I don’t trust going anywhere else.
