I agree with the other 1 star reviews, would give 0 if I could. After our first call we gave him a deposit to start case. He showed for first court appearance which was only 15min long. Then he wanted more money. After that ghosted for weeks, missed zoom meeting and would not return calls. We did the work to get our case heard. We fired him and asked for our files and refund and now nothing. Been 2 months and he does not return calls. DO NOT hire him you will regret it.

This guy is the real deal. Straight out of that New York Mindset—no fluff, no sugarcoating, just facts. He tells you exactly what it is, whether you like it or not, and honestly, that’s exactly what you need when everything’s on the line. On top of that, he’s actually funny, which makes a stressful situation a lot easier to deal with.

Ben doesn’t play games and he definitely doesn’t drag things out to run up your bill like a lot of other attorneys do. He gets in, handles business, and fights for you—especially when it comes to things that matter most, like your kids. During my custody battle, he was focused, aggressive when it counted, and always had a clear plan.

You can tell he genuinely cares about his clients, not just the paycheck. He was responsive, locked in, and made sure I understood everything every step of the way.

Bottom line—if you want someone who’s sharp, honest, straight to the point, and actually delivers results in both divorce and custody cases, Ben Friedman is your guy. I’d recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

Vulgar, unresponsive, and extremely unprofessional. Despite the other party and I reaching an agreement, he became unresponsive and completely mishandled things, which ultimately led to my case being dismissed. It is unacceptable and unbelievable how someone with a fiduciary duty could conduct themselves in this manner. The magistrate even scolded him for his lack of professionalism.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve had with someone in a professional role. There are too
many details to include in a review. I would never, under any circumstances, hire him again and I would strongly discourage anyone from doing so.
