I would strongly caution anyone considering Foxtrot Family Law. My experience with this firm, specifically through the attorney they assigned to me, Kayla Patterson, was devastating for my family and detrimentally changed the trajectory of my children’s lives.

The handling of my case reflected a complete lack of preparation, professionalism, and care. Kayla repeatedly arrived late to meetings, including showing up over an hour late to our pre-hearing meeting and then arriving late and visibly unprepared to the hearing itself. When I would ask questions, she would often seem confused and never clearly answer. She would typically respond with “I’ll have to research that and get back to you,” and she never would. She had no clear strategy, could not answer basic questions about evidence that she had months to review, and even misunderstood my custody arrangement immediately before entering the judge’s chambers.

During the hearing, she failed to present essential facts and evidence that I had thoroughly organized and provided well in advance. This allowed opposing counsel to push false narratives completely unchallenged. As a direct result of this negligence, the judge made a ruling that uprooted my children from their schools, routines, and stability, transferring primary custody to someone with a documented history of significant instability.

Multiple experienced attorneys I consulted afterward expressed disbelief at the outcome and independently reached the same conclusion: the court could not have been properly informed because the facts of my case were never presented.

The consequences of this mishandling were severe and life-altering for my children. While the support staff at Foxtrot were generally kind and responsive, the legal representation I received was reckless and professionally unacceptable. I would not want any other parent or child to go through what my family has experienced.
