My case initially showed strong promise. The first attorney assigned to me was aggressive and prepared. However, just before my case was to be presented to the judge, he left the firm. The second attorney contacted me the day before the hearing asking basic questions he should have already known — a clear sign he was unprepared and out of his depth.

Not long after, he left as well, and I was never notified. By that point, my case had been mishandled to the extent that I lost my position and was forced to settle for nothing.

The firm collected $10,000 in fees and delivered no meaningful results.

I expected much more professionalism and integrity from a law firm with this kind of history. Unfortunately, both my experience and what I’ve learned from others point to ongoing problems with accountability, transparency, financial ethics, and communication.

In 2025, the firm was also named in wage-and-hour lawsuits filed in South Carolina federal court, raising further concerns about its financial management and fair labor standards.

A law firm that promotes itself as reputable and ethical should demonstrate those same values in how it treats people and honors its commitments. Columbia deserves better from its legal community.

Would give 0 stars if that was an option. I was referred to them by another attorney for a case similar to inverse condemnation with my county and my property. I was passed around to several different attorneys as they assigned me ones that were quitting for one reason or another. When the last attorney we had assigned to us went out on maternity leave and never returned, we quit hearing from them. They lost all of the original documents to our case. Luckily we had digital back ups. We finally got in contact with a senior partner, who agreed to take over our case, only to never answer calls. Never return calls. Never stick to appointed meetings. Because of this we had to issue a continuance of my court date 4 different times until the county finally declared it would be no more continuances issued. He then said the entire office was in the process of moving to a new location and ,again, never returned calls. Never showed up to scheduled appointments we made with him. And even today, the day before the court date, his paralegal, who had no idea about our case, said he couldn’t take our call right now to discuss court tomorrow. Even if he does show up tomorrow to court, I’ll still not change my review of this very unprofessional law firm that took our money ( with a very expensive retainer fee) and did absolutely nothing for us. There was nothing accomplished and nothing learned any more that what we already knew and figured out on our own. So much for quality legal representation. You would think that even with each and every phone call and email, they are making hundreds of dollars for a matter of minutes, they would invest a little more into their clients and actually help them the way you hire them to. 0 out of 10. Would NOT recommend. And if you are currently using them, I feel sorry for you and hope that it goes better for you than it did for me and my family. Because now we are stuck with a court appearance with no attorney. After nearly 2 years of this.
