WARNING 🛑: Avoid Diana Figueroa at all costs.
Hiring her was a complete disaster I deeply regret. She is deceptive, manipulative, & unorganized.
From the beginning, she lied about practically everything, provided no guidance, no explanation of the process, even when I asked specifically. I was already in a terrible situation with an abusive husband who made 10Xs as much as I did. Diana made everything exponentially worse at every juncture.
She lied to me about a stipulated order. I specifically identified language that I did NOT agree NOR consent to, and she reassured me that it wouldn’t be an issue. She refused to make any changes, which led to me being unjustly accused of contempt for removing my own personal belongings from the marital home. This could have been avoided if she had not been so lazy & simply acted on my requests. She’s taken zero accountability for what she had done & Im the one that has suffered the consequences of her mistakes.
She cowarded down to my husband’s attorney letting her run the show completely, to the point where she was basically co-counseling with the opposing side like she had admittedly done many times before (I have evidence).
Diana even pressured me to take out a 30k loan to pay for her more even though she never did her job in the first place, despite the fact that I had already paid her 12k for one hearing, phone calls & emails. She had originally promised she would recover everything from my husband which was a complete LIE! She charged me an additional 2k for a continuance bc SHE got COVID!!!
I seriously believe she has some kind of mental disorder, possibly even developing Alzheimer’s or dementia. Speaking to her, she seems very out of touch with reality, would repeatedly ask me the same questions & ask for the same documentation over and over (while charging me each time) even though I had already provided it. Many items that I provided to her apparently were never received by the opposing council because there were motions filed against me demanding the same information that I have proof that I sent to Diane Figueroa previously.
When I finally fired her, Diana informed me she would not stop representing me (even against my will) & would continue to charge me. Despite my direct instruction to cease all work, she proceeded with further actions, fraudulently added 10k to my bill, filed a charging lien, but performed no significant services. The Florida Bar clearly states that an attorney must respect a client’s request to stop representation, but Diana ignored this entirely.
Diana’s lack of professionalism didn’t stop there. She ignored my requests regarding mediation, proceeded with actions against my wishes, while she again failed to provide me with ta link to even attend the mediation myself. I specifically requested to impasse but she ignored my instructions & continued to do as she pleased. Once again I was left to pay the price for her mistakes & misconduct.
Additionally she scheduled hearings without my knowledge, consent, & against my direct instructions, further exacerbating my case. Further, I have emails that show her engaging in personal attacks & slander against me.
If you value your time & money, do yourself a favor and stay far away from Diana Figueroa. She will manipulate, deceive, and overcharge you, all while leaving you in a worse position than you were in when you started. I’m still dealing with the fallout from her mishandling of my case and would strongly urge anyone considering her services to RUN & find a competent attorney who will actually work for you.
Lastly, she uses her leverage to coerce people to write FAKE positive reviews to counter the bad ones (when people actually tell the truth of who she is & what she does). She manipulated me to do this during a critical point in my case.
