Some 5 years ago, my father and I decided it was time for him to update a 25-year old family trust (which by the way is something I highly recommend for everyone). While the original attorney had done a good job (as confirmed by Dess) a lot had changed in both my family's circumstances and the regulatory environment around trusts.
