Ebony Cavalier Attorney

I strongly caution anyone dealing with attorney Ebony Cavalier to examine the record carefully. In my family-court case, official court records repeatedly stated that she appeared “on behalf of IRIS Domestic Violence Intervention Center, Inc.” and requested continuances that kept restraining orders in effect. Those entries created the unmistakable appearance that a domestic-violence organization was involved in my case and supported continued restrictions against me.

IRIS later informed me in writing that it had no involvement in my case, that Ms. Cavalier was not representing IRIS in those matters, and that her appearances were made as a courtesy to the court. In other words, the official record repeatedly conveyed institutional involvement that IRIS itself later denied.

This was not an insignificant discrepancy. The restraining orders affected my relationship with my children, while the underlying allegations were never independently investigated. I believe the repeated use of IRIS’s name gave the allegations an appearance of professional review and legitimacy that did not exist. An attorney has an obligation to ensure that representations made in court are truthful and not materially misleading. Based on the documents in my case, I have grave concerns about Ms. Cavalier’s honesty, professional judgment, and respect for the consequences her actions had on a family.

I would not trust her with any matter involving children, domestic violence allegations, or a person’s fundamental rights.

Shout out to Mrs Ebony Cavalier!! I was so happy she accepted my case. She was able to get everything I requested for in my case. She is very knowledgeable in Louisiana law. Highly recommended to anyone who needs a strong lawyer!! She assured me everything was going to be fine. We went to court, it played out just like she said it would.
