Went to EBJ to sign on my real estate deal Tuesday at 10:30 am. It’s Friday and my property has recorded but I have no money. No one ever answers the phone at ebj law so I have no idea what the issue is. No updates from law firm. Was told it would be in my account by Thursday morning.

Update: You said it would be Thursday morning. You recorded my property but I have no money. Wires take moments not 24 hrs. You never said 24 hrs and now we are into a weekend so my guess is I will see the money Monday. If you got the money this morning how do I not have my money right now. Hannah never answers the phone. She called me back yesterday. I got one update and that was that my property was recorded and I sent an email back to Hannah. She said she would send me the wire confirmation number when she had it. No email so far. Check your facts. I called at 4:45. If you recorded before noon how long does it take for a wire to get done.

Update: Saturday 5/30 7 pm. it’s been well over 24 hours, no funds. It will be Monday I am sure and you had funds Friday am and got the deed processed by lunch but not a wire to pay the former owner.

Final update: Received my money on Monday at 11am.

My family and I did our closing twice at EBJ Law and everything went smooth. The Attorney (EBJ) was a very clear communicator. The team starting with Hannah from the Front desk were all personable and I would put this office everytime.

This lawyer is EXACTLY who you do NOT want to use. Due to inability to parse out basic information for a basic real estate closing she cost my family thousands of dollars. I’d like to see her dispute this claim.
Pure laziness was the cause of her incompetence.

We've had two annoying instances with this law firm.

First, they had hired a second attorney last year that was completely unprepared in a closing with important details of the transaction. It made our agent look like they hadn't communicated correctly, and upon reviewing the incident, it was definitely just the attorney not familiarizing themself with the transaction they were closing. We learned later that attorney was let go.

Then this week, we were to pick up a check that's nearly $30,000 from the office. I was advised that it would be available at 8:30. It wasn't available, and no one was in the office. An employee came in late and advised her GPS always took her the long way thru traffic (which is an odd statement). Then the employee couldn't find the check. Then they were advised the check actually wasn't available (even though we had closed the day prior and all other funds for the transaction had been disbursed). I was told the attorney was running about an hour and a half late.

They DID offer to FedEx the check to me, but given the amount of funds and that the attorney is the one that proposed 8:30am pickup that they weren't ready for, it was just another example of the firm perceivably being disorganized. Not a company I would choose to work with in the future.
