We have a time sensitive child support case with a court date in two weeks. I called on Wednesday to schedule a consultation. Thursday afternoon came around, and I called again to see if there was an update. I was told they sent another email to the attorney and would call me back to collect the consultation fee. Today is Friday before Memorial Day so I knew we would lose a day on Monday and called again. The receptionist checked and said the attorney had sent an email that they would not accept the case due to caseload. It is very reasonable for a firm to not accept cases due to caseload or various other reasons. What i feel is not acceptable is that I relayed the date of court to both receptionists during the calls on back to back days and nobody reached out yesterday to let me know. It is very frustrating that I lost a day and a half plus the holiday and now have to find a different attorney.

Several months back I went on a holiday to Mexico. When I came back through customs I was quite shocked to be pulled out and told I had a felony warrant from thirty years ago. Honestly and earnestly I couldn't remember the details that caused the warrant to be written.

After several months he actually resolved the case for me in such a fashion that I did not have to surrender myself and he got the warrant removed and the case dismissed. While any criminal defendant wants that outcome, it's not always possible or even reasonable. I offered Andy more money because I felt strong that he under charged me and he refused to accept one dollar more than what we agreed to initially.

So here it is, I found an attorney who gave me a very reasonable rate, honored his word, kept his pledge, gave a damn, and dispensed my case in the most beneficial way to me personally.

If you wind up with a lousy attorney it's because you didn't hire this guy. I believe I was innocent of the criminal charge, as I tried to recall I think there was more to the story than the simple facts as it appeared. These circumstances can always be complex. But the simple solution is to get an attorney who has a good command of the law and who is a man of his word.
