Our experience with this public defender was shocking and completely unacceptable. Instead of focusing on my son’s case, she spent time talking about things that had nothing to do with his situation like the prosecutors becoming judges and how she was trying to “get cases done early” because of changes in other people’s job positions.This is my son’s life, not a scheduling inconvenience. She repeatedly told my son he could “hire another attorney,” which is insulting coming from a public defender whose job is to represent people who can’t afford $15,000 upfront. Her tone made it clear she thought we were stupid or didn’t know our rights. I sat and cried as I listened to the call. She cut him off, talked down to him, and acted irritated any time he tried to explain his side. She even mumbled under her breath as he was talking!!!! Her conduct was unprofessional, unethical, and caused unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. I am praying for this lady. Praying for her heart. God bless her.
