I found this lawyer on avvo website, because he had posted many answers to questions people had asked. I was very apprehensive about hiring him as there were no reviews but thought may be he is old school so that's why. After speaking to him, he seemed reasonable and his competency showed in his answers posted. It was indeed foolish of me. He charged me a big retainer which he agreed could be paid in installments and money back if I didn't like his work. Mr. Cone only indulges in emails, charges $450/- an hour and will sound promising but deliver way less and leave you in a lurch feeling lost and full of regret. He charged me $300/- just for serving papers to my husband. He had no plan for me, no guidance, his emails were vague to the extend that if I have to find answers on my own then may be I should represent myself. You will be left puzzled and more confused than ever. He had no clear idea about my case. All he does is post answers on avvo as hobby. Please don't be fooled by his answers. He has a lot of knowledge, but won't apply it effectively for you on your case because chances are high that he won't know your case.. He won't have a plan for you, and I had to suffer and reconsidered firing twice because of the retainer I paid him. I finally FIRED him when he emailed me asking me about a random post on AVVO that he had read. It was about a woman asking for help whose husband had gone absconding and was probably going to file bankruptcy. I couldn't believe I had paid a lawyer who had happily taken money as a retainer from me but had no idea what my case was about. I immediately started looking for a lawyer. He has only helped me file and nothing else and refusing to pay me back the amount he should be paying. This is nothing less than a high way robbery. Such a sham he is. I am shocked at the way this lawyer has behaved and charged me. His pastime is posting great answers on avvo. Pl save yourself money, time, and effort. Hire someone who will be ready to take your case, understands, has a team and can help you out.

Responsive, wise, and graceful are the first words that come to mind when thinking about recent consultation with Steve Cone. I was extremely please with his ability to react quickly when needed (he even opened his office early to receive a first-thing-in-the-morning package sent over night).

I was also impressed with his wise counsel and guiding morals. He always provided the best legal advice yet encouraged a solution which was best for me and my wife even though it was the least revenue for his practice. All around A+ service and would buy that man a beer any day.
