Please DO NOT retain this attorney/firm for representation. I would absolutely not recommend this attorney based on my continued frustrating and disappointing experience with this firm. I retained this attorney (Amit Deshmukh) on March 30, 2026 for my immigration case. Since the signature of my retainer with Desh Law, the level of communication and transparency I have received has been unacceptable and disappointing. Despite repeated e-mails to Amit Deshmukh since August 5, 2026 to obtain basic information about my case, I have struggled to get clear and transparent answers, updates, or documentation regarding the legal work I paid in full for. I should not have to repeatedly chase my own attorney for information about my immigration case. I personally needed confirmation that the Motion to Substitute Attorney, Motion to Recalendar, and Motion to Terminate had been filed with the Newark Immigration Court. Because I could not get a clear answer from the attorney's office, my wife contacted the court directly on September 4, 2026. According to the Immigration Court Clerk she told my wife that the Immigration Court HAD NOT received any motion since 2021. When Amit Deshmukh e-mailed a written response to my wife on August 5th stating the following, “Hello, the motion is still pending. Hopefully we have a response soon!” My wife immediately contacted the attorney's office and spoke with Claudia. My wife communicated what the court had told her to Claudia. Clauda told my wife that attorney and the paralegal assigned to my case were in court and that the attorney would be informed and would call her back. No one ever called back. On September 8, 2026 I sent a detailed written request asking for basic information on my immigration case: Proof that the motions were filed and received by the court and TA; Full refund or partial refund of unearned portion of my legal fees; and a complete copy of my case file and documents. On September 9, 2026 Amit Deshmukh e-mailed me pictures of the Motion to Substitute and Motion to Terminate with dates of September 9, 2026, but no pictures of the Motion to Recalendar as the signed retainer and legal fees that I have paid in full stated that Amit Deshmukh would submit. The most concerning and frustrating part is that six (6) months have past without submission of the motions when Amit stated in writing on August 5th that the motions were pending. Even with the September 9th submission of the motions it was not fully completed since 2 out of the 3 motions were allegedly submitted to the Newark Immigration Court. This is very unprofessional and very incompetent on their part. I responded to Amit’s e-mail stating this in frustration and disappointment and formally requested a full or at minimum, substantial partial refund of the fees I paid for the services that were delayed, incomplete, or not performed as agreed as per our retainer signed on March 30, 2026. Amit did not respond, I sent a follow-up on September 11, 2026. Still NO answer. I called Desh Law Office on September 14, 2026 to receive answers (Tracking #, alternatively the EOIR Stamp on the firm's copy of the motions, and full or at minimum, substantial partial refund of the fees I paid for the services that were delayed, incomplete, or not performed as agreed). The guy I spoke to said he will retrieve the tracking number and give it to me today (September 14, 2026). Since I did not hear back from him, my wife proceeded to call Desh Law Office the same day. My wife spoke to Claudia again. Claudia indicated that the Motions (Motion to Sub and Motion to Terminate) were hand delivered. My wife asked for the proof of the EOIR stamp. Claudia said she will ask for the proof once the team was out of the meeting. As of September 15, 2026 - I am still waiting for proof of submission and a refund! I am leaving this review because I believe prospective clients deserve to know about my experience before entrusting this office with their immigration case and their money.

Thank you very much to the Desh Law team, especially Michael and Amit, for their very successful work (they released my husband before deportation in 3 hours, which another lawyer could not do in 8 days). I am very grateful to you for returning my family to me!
