Davis LLP

Mr. Eric Davis is a charming and seemingly determined lawyer who took my case against Liberty Moving, who botched my move on so many levels it is really quite unbelievable. They seemed to have scrambled up our items in storage and it is still unclear today as to what has been recovered. During the drop off when most of our stuff was unloaded, my treasured heirloom China closet was not on the truck. They called to the facility and said there were items left behind and they were going back to retrieve them, never to return and then claimed to have delivered everything! Many things were broken and missing but my main objective was to get my grandmother’s china closet back at all costs! The company went back and forth claiming they had nothing more of ours to then finding 3 containers but they kept saying the China closet wasn’t in those found containers. I never understood how they really could tell since it was thoroughly wrapped. Liberty wanted to be paid for an extra trip to deliver everything but it was they who didn’t have everything to deliver! I paid them what I owed but not for an extra trip when they couldn’t guarantee they had all the stuff left under their care. Mr Davis understood the intricate details but after he was paid, his enthusiasm began to wane and then Covid hit so he understandably couldn’t work on my case. I did follow up when restrictions started lifting and at that point, I had to go over all the details again so he could write Liberty a letter. After I felt things were finally moving, more time started passing with no word from Davis. I finally called him and his secretary said Liberty never responded and that I should schedule a phone conference with Davis, who never had the decency to follow up with me. He called and I missed the call by a minute only to call him back and not get him for the duration of our conference call scheduled time I called his secretary and said that this was bull and I wanted to talk to him. He called, berated me, started to seemingly explain that the moving company did nothing wrong and it was really my fault and that he worked so hard and that I owed him money but he didn’t want it, he just didn’t want to represent me anymore!!! Say what now? What lawyer doesn’t send a bill or follow up? What lawyer puts in free time on your behalf? What lawyer takes money, never follows up and blames his client when he is has to be tracked down? Oh and then he claimed to send me some valuable email months ago with so much info explaining everything! Ok and usually a courtesy call is placed letting the client know to look out for such an earth shattering email that could have been easily missed or unreceived! He worked so hard but couldn’t have his secretary call me to see if I got this magical email so many months ago? Then when I called him out on that his response was “Everyone emails during Covid, because you probably wouldn’t have gotten the call”. Ok Mr. Davis, you obviously have me mixed up with one of your other sucker clients! Thanks so much for your invaluable service and for ruining lawyers for me! You and Liberty make a great team!
